God's Beauty On Display

I don't know how it is where you live, but here in NC the weather has been gorgeous for the last few days. The sun is so bright and warm and the spring flowers are popping up all over. I've never seen the wild sweet violets, henbit, and Baby Blue Eyes so beautiful as they are this year. Of course the daffodills, crocus, and periwinkle are lovely and the Bradford Pears that survived the ice storm are putting on a stunning display.

I just returned from a walk by the river; the birds were singing, the breeze was cool on my face, there were ducks and squirrels and the dark, rippling water...a thousand wonders unique to this planet placed here by our wonderful creator. God's beauty is reflected all around us. He created all this for our pleasure as well as for His and He wants us to appreciate and admire it and to tell Him how thankful we are for His vast and varied creation.

Thank you Lord for making all of this, for giving me eyes to see and ears to hear the wonders you have placed around me. Make me ever mindful of how small I am and how great you are, and never to take any of your vast and beautiful creation for granted. Amen.
