I'm just going to share my thoughts in this post..be kind, for I have neglected to post ANYTHING in a long time..Ok....yeah, I can't believe its been a year since 9/11, but it only amazes me because time flies so fast...yes, 9/11 was a terrible day and yes, my heart goes out to all the victims' families, BUT I really wish everyone would just stop making it out to be some big day that we should all lay down for and cry about..I mean, ALL OVER the TV, they have these programs "9/11...a year later"...We know its a year later..we know what happened..we don't have to see the images of the planes hitting the buildings, or the people crying..I saw those images maybe 50 times last year..why?? Did the news programs feel that maybe no one else saw it and felt that they should present the images to the US?? There was some story I heard last year around this time that on 9/11, after the attacks, a little boy started to cry to his mother after watching the news..when asked why he was crying, the boy replied with "why do they keep doing that?? why do they keep blowing up those buildings??"...Because of all the play those images got, the boy got confused and thought that everytime they played the image of the plane hitting the buildings, the terrorists were hitting the buildings over and over..He couldn't understand that the news program was just replaying the footage..he didn't know that the attacks were over...So...I think that 9/11 should be a national remembrance day or a national prayer day...NOT a national holiday..I don't feel that everyone should get work and school off because something nasty happened and people died..I bet if they did make it a holiday, children and parents wouldn't even think to say a prayer..they would just enjoy their day off...That's how life goes...Now what I think they need to do on 9/11 is not to play any shows about it..not to show any images revealing the motives of the terrorists...That just eggs it on..I think that each network, at a different time, should cut their programming for maybe 2 minutes, tops, and just have 2 minutes of silence and a black screen...2 minutes for people to remember and pray for the lost lives..2 minutes to remember what it means to be an American..2 minutes to know that we are all One Nation Under God...no matter what God he/she is..That's it..Although it was a year ago, and a tragedy none the less, it shouldn't be played out like this..the networks are glamourizing a tragedy for ratings..not because they care...I'm 18 years young and I have to live on that day for many years to come..I don't want to get sick of that day because of all the publicity surrounding it..So..concluding my ramble..I think that everyone should give it a break..take time out to remember what its like to live in the US, but not over do the whole "My dad died in 9/11" thing because the world already knows..we don't need recaps about how everyone is doing now..I'm sure they're doing about the same as any other murdered victim's family..sheesh..sorry if you feel i'm not being sympathetic at all..I'm just tired of hearing about it..
Remember 9/11 for the way we all came together..Not because networks are force-feeding it to you...God bless you for reading this..I know it took some guts to take time out of your life to listen to what i had to say..so Thank You!! :-D
