A New Friend

OK here goes:
A New Friend
A lonely shadow sat on the floor
Who to talk to,who to adore

But his master up above
Is the only one to give him love

But his master is always alone
Until the sun rises and his shadow is shown

They have each other all through the day
Until night when his dearest shadow goes away

He eats alone in his cold home
Missing his shadow all alone

But his shadow shows him a new friend
Soon to be the latest trend

Someone to talk to, someone who's there
Someone you know really does care

He glanced at the book and was drawn by a force
Something told him this was the source

The source of all happiness outside and within
And obviously he'd found a new friend

He tried something new before going to bed
He knelt on the floor and here's what he said:

"Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep

And if I should die before I wake
I pray the Lord, my new friend, my soul to take."

So when you feel lonely don't despair
For the good Lord will always be there.
