SUMMER SUN~ peachykeen247

It was another one of those summer days where the humidity seemed to seep from every pore of your body and there was no escape from this humid jungle. To walk, to rest, the sun seemed to steal the bodies mobility. The children would impatiently await the obnoxious jingle of pop goes the weasel that would informally announce the arrival of temporary iced relief and ring in the back of your mind even after it had passed the next block. Sitting on the curb they would race to devour their icy treats before they would evaporate into the clear blue skies. The streets appeared to have turned into tar pits with steam rising from every inch of it creating a mirage off in the distance. As one glances lazily around for any site of afternoon shade, no luck. So, we wait for the breeze that never comes. How long can one wait before they evaporate themselves into the still suffocating air. No escape.
