Date: 1/26/2002 9:26:00 PM From Authorid: 14015 Goth isn't just a type of dress or religious practice. Being Goth is being Goth. "...what goth is?" is like asking what "Preppy" is. It's a type of person. Goths are just a very different very misunderstood newly formed clique. Most Goths have a Earth-baced (pagan) views, yet some can be christian. Most favorite color is black (or seem so), yet others like white or other colors. There is no standard, there is no rules, it is a widly disperced and flexable group. Simply put, it's the GOTH group. |

We are a culture, just like any other, and we are STRONGLY misunderstood. As is obvious by your reply. I am the Enlightened Leader Across of my Clan, and we would all be serverely insulted (and angered) to be called a 'clique'. We have Clan structures, ranks and beleifs systems. If you wish to know more Kaja, message me or Dark Sadness(ID6975). |

As a person who has been Gothic, and has practiced Gothicism for many years, I can give you some valuable insight. Gothicism is NOT a clique. It is a extremely complicated, misunderstood belief system and code of honor. In it self, yes, we do wear black, because it shows our loyalty. Bascially put in another sense, what we study is Death, Dying, and the Art, Literature and Archetecture surrounding the time period. Not only this, it is also a congregation of philosophers, poets and writers who have a darker sense of expressing themselves. |
