What do I think about it? Not much unless someone is hard up for another over worked movie or TV series - this has been going on for centuries - it's like a virus - it comes and goes - who knows maybe someday we'll find a cure for that as well.  |

This is a long post, but well worth reading if you are interested in this topic. The person who seems most fit to fulfill those prophecies at the moment seems to be Maitreya. He is probably the one whom you heard was living in Europe - he's east of London at the moment. At a meeting on his private ship near the Isle of Malta on April 20-22 1990, some of the more noteable guests were Presidents Gorbachev and Bush, with reports of the Pope showing up. A statue to Maitreya Christ was under construction in the USA but it had to be demolished because of permit restrictions - however a 500-foot statue to Maitreya Buddha in north India has been under construction since 1995 and is scheduled for completion between '03 - '05. For a dose of reality here, the statue of liberty is 111 feet from it's base to the tip of the torch. The Maitreya Buddha statue is 500 feet - sitting down! Big Ben barely reaches it's knee. Now that you know people take Maitreya seriously - very seriously - let's have a look at his claims. He claims to be the power that worked through Jesus and Mohummed, and will call himself the 5th Buddha, Krishna, Imam Madhi, the Jewish Messiah and the Christian Christ (who they say is a seperate entity to Jesus, yet the same Maitreya Power works through them both). Maitreya Jesus, now 2000 years old, is said to be living in Italy in a 600-year-old Syrian body, and is preparing to take over the Seat of St. Peter in Rome (!!) and then will proceed to unite all religions and 'correct' all Christian denominations, first eucamenical then others, from the 'innacurate' doctrine of the Bible that they have been preaching. Have you also noticed the huge boost in the 'innacurate KJV Bible' theory, even by church leaders? It's just part of the preperation. Note that they don't specify whether the takeover of the Papacy will be physical or by their popular process of 'overshadowing' (possession). Maitreya himself will become known at first not under the name Maitreya, but will become popular on international media with bright ideas for promoting peace and welfare. Finally at Maitreya's Day of Declaration (Antichrist's counterfeit 2nd Coming?) there is a classic play of words, as 'every ear shall hear him' even those who are NOT near a TV or Radio, all of which will be hooked up for the event which takes place in Jerusalem. He 'shows his credentials' as the Messiah all religions have been waiting for, and the 'lying signs and wonders' even causing 'fire to come down from heaven in the sight of men' is performed exactly according to prophecy. The Pope will be in Jerusalem coincidental to this Declaration, and proclaims Maitreya to be the true Christ. Maitreya then undertakes a world tour of every country in a matter of weeks, in an attempt to fulfill the 'every eye shall see him' prophecy about the real 2nd coming. The proposal is made, either prior to or at this time, to make Jerusalem an 'international city' - one owned neither by Jews or Muslims, and the daily sacrifice is restored at the temple mount, fooling basically the whole nation. It is from THEIR OWN books that we read about the praying 'amidst the rubble of the Temple Mount' - OOOOOOPS! Who let that slip? RUBBLE? There we have stark confirmation that it is in the plans to destroy the Dome of the Rock and establish a multi-religion, international Temple. When you see Arafat reduce the Dome of the Rock to rubble, and blame it on the Israelis, you know the time is now, because this whole event takes place before anything is rebuilt there. Arafat let slip in his broken english that they will destroy their own holy places in a CNN interview with Christina Amanpour - I heard it but am still hunting for a transcript. Arafat stammered a bit then tore of his microphone and left the room right away. If you're wondering where I got all the information about the plans and position of Maitreya, it's from the horse's mouth. I know, it sounds like it's off a Christian site, with the way it perfectly fulfills antichrist prophecy, but it's their own plans! Remember that the ONLY way you will see through this counterfeit will be if you have a connection to the REAL Christ. Our 6 senses, yes all 6, will tell us this guy is God, fulfilling the prophecy that he will 'decieve the very elect, if it were possible!' Get connected to the real Christ - today. Vert.  |

That is how I was taught. Have you every read the "Left Behind" series about the world after the rapture, by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins? The books are all according to the book of Revelations. Very interesting reading.  |

Good Morning, it was Hal Linseys book Late great planet earth that brought me to accept Jesus and Christianity back in 1976, since that time and much study I now know better. The bible is too full of contradictions and errors and when one studies other writings from the time of Jesus alledged birth we find ZERO mention of Jesus or his feats which makes You think that it is a fraud foisted upon the people to control thier behavour. As You read the roman history and how they spread this "New Testament" at the point of a sword and through torture and murder You have to ask Yourself, if the bible message were truly the word of God wouldnt it have been spread through love instead. Also if there are that many errors and contradictions in the Bible then isnt it possible that the whole Antichrist story is baloney. Bye for now. Enki  |

I believe what the Bible says about him. But we do not know who it is going to be. A while back, a Man named Henry Kissenger, he was a peace maker, everyone claim that he would be the Anti-Christ, mostly it was the Christians. If you take the letters of the alpha bet, replace a number with a letter, with a multiple of 6, like A is 6, B is 12, C is 18, D is 24, and so one, the Name Kissenger will equal up to be 666. Which is the Mark of the Beast. Well I think that is just coindendental. Maybe your name will fit into this will equal 666. I will say this, it is unfair and unwise for a Christian(or anyone for that matter) To Label Kissenger(or anyone) as the Anti-Christ.  |

Now that the 666 has come into this, let's clear that one up real quick. It's amazing how misconstued this plain portion of the Bible gets, so here it is to read for yourself: "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." Revelation 13:16-18. The number of a beast (represents a kingdom) whose mark of authority we must accept, is also the number of a man, who's number is 666. This means that the name in Aramic, Greek or Latin (the only 3 languages whose letters have values) will equal 666 - not in any other numbering system. By the way, Antichrist isn't even mentioned in that part of the book. 666 has nothing to do with Antichrist. Vert. |

The number 666 actually means this.. 666 WHAT DOES IT MEAN.In revelation 13:1 it says "and upon his heads the name of blasphemy"concerning antichrist(the beast from the sea).This mark will be a religious mark not a political mark,placed in the right hand or the forehead.In the story of cain god set a mark upon him,this place in the scipture,in the original hebrew it say a tav.In ancient hebrew the tav was a cross.The same word is used in the story of the passover where the door post's were marked,tav,which means the mark was a cross.This mark was used to protect people from judgment.(the greek and hebrew words were gotten from video so the spelling most likely will be wrong sorry but I dont speek greek)In rev 7  and 3 it says the angel had the seal of god ,and would seal the hundred and fourty four thousand.Acording to jewish teaching the seal of god is truth(the hebrew word being emet.the spelling is alaf- mem -tav.The beast's mark will be a mockery of gods mark.We are told it will be blasphemest.What is blasphemest about a computer chip or some other thing.They will take the name of god and do a demonic miracle with it.In jewish mystisism (kabbala)it is said that a golem could be created by writing alaf-mem-tav in it's forehead,and speaking the name of god over it.The meaning of golem is a creature without a soul(the image of the beast?)There is a group now in israel called the lamid hae(I hope thats spelled right)who says they can do this.The false prophet will use the name of god to do a demonic miracle,this is blasphemy.In our bible it says six hundred three score and six.Meaning 666,but in the original greek it uses the letters ki-zi-stigma,nowadays there is no greek letter stigma,but there was in johns time.In those times stigma was used by the goverment to brand slaves in their forehead and soldiers in their right hands.John would have known this when writing the book of revelation,he knew what the mark was.In the oldest known text called the bisentien text(I know thats spelled wrong)that we got most of the new testament from it does not say six hundred and sixty six,it says ki zi stigma,it does not say anything about adding it up. In the 1800s westcott and hort took it and put the number value to it from the greek numbering system to come up with 666.Stigma was not a letter,but a mark invented to represent six,and to use as a mark,it was also used to show what god or master the slave or soldier served.Hope this makes sense.you can search for golem through any search engine and read the legends about it. Interesting post, Captain Skeezix. 1) Mr. Lindsey has advocated the idea the antichrist is alive and living in Europe since the late 1970's. Unless Mr. Lindsey has changed his opinion of who the antichrist is, the evil one is now almost 50. If he doesn't know by now, he isn't; the training required for ruling the world must be extensive. 2) Many have had the title "The Antichrist" conferred upon them, including Claudius, Nero, Domitian, any number of Popes, FDR, Mussolini, Hitler, Henry Kissinger and Bill Clinton. Vert's comment that it may be Maitreya is apparently another link in an endless chain of candidates. 3) Consider the claims that he will unite the Middle East and the world religions. The intellect required for such a feat would be prodigious, assuming initial cooperation from human nature and religious fervor. Is this remotely reasonable? 4)I find no consistent indication in the Scripture that the antichrist is a literal male. 5)"Antichrist" in the Scripture refers to a general attitude, not a specific world leader. Linsey may not have been right about whom HE thought the antichrist is, and I dont agree with HIS perception of the tribulation, but as far as the TIME line, of the bible, the mark of the beast, as far as all of this:::::It is believed by lindsey and many other Christians that the Antichrist will bring the nations of the world together for a period of peace and prosperity. He will even end strife in the Middle-East. It is said that he will unite the religions of the world. The Antichrist will then become the One Great Religious leader of the world. As I understand it, the Antichrist will be assasinated but then will come back from the dead.....& then all hell will break loose. then thats right. the true identity of the anti-christ will not be until 3 quartyers of the way into the tribulation. all hell basically breaks loose long before he is recognized. there will first be the rapture and the seals and trumpet judges. u should read revelation for a more clear picture on this. also there's a christian fiction series out "the left behind series" which goes along with revelation in the bible...  |

I usually don't type my thoughts in such a blunt manner, but it's very late in more ways than one. I know this will make me very unpopular, but there is NO more time to worry about one's popularity - a spade must be called a spade, NOW! This is about the cowardly doctrine of the Rapture, so that doesn't rear it's ugly head in this thread again, and we can keep it focused on the topic from a Biblical perspective... Note that in Matthew 24 (PLEASE READ IT WITH THIS POST, King James Version) Jesus says that the Great Tribulation will be so bad that no flesh could survive - except that the it will be cut short FOR THE SAKE OF THE ELECT (242). Why, if we are already raptured to Heaven? Jesus then comes in the clouds and AT THAT TIME sends his angels forth to gather together the elect from north, south, east and west (249-31). Why, if we are already gathered together in Heaven? Then in the parable at the end of the same chapter, talking about the two servants, He says that WHEN THE MASTER COMETH he will find the wise servant busy DOING what he had been commissioned to do. The foolish servant was taken by surprise when the Master returned, because he COMES in a day when the servant doesn't expect him (because the rapture hasn't happened??). Be ready. I think you should just go to www.biblegateway.com and type in "antichrist" in the word search, choose the New Testament (as that is the only place it is mentioned) and read what few verses there are about it. The "antichrist" is a myth... there are many antichrists, and they are described as people who lead others astray with false teaching about the gospel. Very easy to understand, no need for a HUGE discussion about it IMO.  |

I believe there are many Anti-Christs. After all, anyone who is anti-Jesus could be considered "anti-Christ," right? However, who the present anti-Christ is, I don't know. There is a definite anti-Christian sentiment growing throughout America, and I suppose the anti-Christ that you refer to, could emerge here in the US.  |
