Cus it's that time of year again and it happened again!!

TRIMMING THE TREE WITH KITTY

Everything tangled in a box
Strings of lights, garland and bows
Kitty's eyes widen with delight
For Christmas is here, she knows

It's her time for playing tug of war
As I plug in the lights for testing
She wants to try it first, she claims
Even though some bulbs are missing

But when I find that missing bulb
And the lights begin to flicker
With the string of lights wrapped round her now
Santa would never miss her

I tell her "These are lights for the tree"
Go find something else from the box
And don't you try to crawl inside
Those bright red fancy socks

Next I pull the garland out
And she can't contain herself
She thinks it's yummy gold candy
From the store's special shelf

By the time I pull it from her teeth
The garland's naked in parts
I hide what's bare in the back of the tree
Where it ends and where it starts

"Stand back and take a look at the tree"
I tell her with a stern voice
But she's already gotten into the socks
The red ones are her choice

After dumping Kitty out of a stocking
I then tend to the bows
Tying them as nicely as I can
As Kitty knocks down the rows

"Do you want to trim the tree?" I ask
"Then you must leave it be!"
But Kitty doesn't understand
She's now the star on top of my tree
