How far did you drift away Over seas or over dales Was your journey smooth on land Or rough by winds on your sails
But welcome back to me From where ever you journey
Did you bring back treasures Did you find something knew The sun, perhaps of a different shade Hidden in a sky of blue
Were your travels valuable Did anything follow you home Did anyone help with the load Or did you carry it all alone
It really doesn't matter to me From where ever you journey
You must have a very good map Or lasting bread crumbs Or birds to grant your every wish To stay away from them
Stories you must have to tell Now that you've found me here I shall listen tentatively With an interesting ear
For I am glad to see You welcomed back to me
