How I Found God

About a year ago, my wife was invited to attend a church service, by some relatives of ours. My wife asked me to go with her and our children. I polietly refused, and they went alone. While they were at church, I stayed home doing my usual Non religious stuff, like watching TV and things, but it really begain to bother me that I had allowed my children and wife to go to church on thier own. I begain to feel lousy as a father and husband, for being so set in my ways, that I could not even go to church with my family. The following Sunday, I decided to save face with my family and accompany them to church. I went, but with thier understanding that I did not believe in God, and I was only going for thier benefit. We got to church, and I was basically starting to regret going. After a bit of preaching, the alter call was given. My 8 year old son was at the other end of the pew crying, and the next thing I knew was that my wife told me that my son wanted to go to the alter, but was afraid of what I would say. I told my wife that he could go if he wanted. My son took his uncle by the hand and went to the alter. I looked at my wife, and she was now crying as well. I felt so terible, but still did'nt believe. Knowing my wife of 10 years(at that time) and seeing a look on her face that I had never seen before, also feeling guilty of not taking my own son to the alter, I asked my wife if she wanted to go down. She said no. I squeezed by her, and she stopped me and asked where I was going. I told her that I was going to my son. We both started to cry, and I took her by the hand, and my wife and I went down to the alter to be with our son. We all three gave our hearts and lives to the Lord on that day, Easter Sunday, of 2000. I cannot begain to tell you what a joy came into my heart, and what a feeling of great relief came over me. I could actually feel the Spirit of God that I had so often heard about. Within a week I had written a gospel song, and even learned to play the piano with absolutly no instrucion or help at all. I had been given a keyboard for my birthday 2 years prior, but was never able to play a single thing, try as I might. Overnight, my life was changed. There is no doubt in my mind that God is real. I only wish that I had discovered Christ many, many years ago. The moral of this story is, if you have never given God a chance, you will never experiance the joy and knowledge that the Christians claim to know. Only the love of God can give you the things which you have desired for so long. God will not beat you up in order to make you trust in him. You must seek out the Lord, and call upon him. To believe is to live. To deny is to seal your fate to a life of eternal torment and suffering. Go to church this Sunday, and while you are there, ask yourself, what if there really is a God? What if there really is a hell? Are you willing to stake your soul on your disbelief? If there is not a God, what do you have to lose by going to Church? But if there is a God, which I assure you that there is, you have eternity to lose for your stubborness. Don't take my word for it, find out for yourself. Let me know when you too find God. See you in church this Sunday, God Bless,........ High Speed
