The Exorcist-Uncut Version -Scary, or not? ...Cool Blizzard

Well, I saw the Exorcist when I was 12, and I must say it was more scary AFTERWARD than DURING. The one part that made me scream and run out of the house was near the beginning, when Regan rolled her eyes back in her head and growled. Well, 5 years later, tonight, I saw the uncut version on Pay-Per-View. I saw the part everyone talks about, where Regan crawls down the stairs in a backward, weird sort of way. It gave me chills, there's no denying that, but it wasn't mortally terrifying. The few parts that were cut out and newly seen took me by surprize as well. The whole movie gives me little chills, but like I said, it's more scary to think about it afterward than during. This is coming from the same person that ran out of the room crying during the first five minutes of Scream shouting, "Turn it off! Stop the tape!" LOL, go figure. I don't know why I don't get as terrified as some people that watched the Exorcist, but I pray to God every day to protect me, and I guess I feel bad for even watching the movie. But my mom and step-dad were watching, and I was just glued. So what do you think? Mortally, nightmarishly, freakishly terrifying, or a little eerie but nothing big? Oh, and what do you think was the scariest part? I think that when Regan rolled her eyes back and growled, at the beginning was the scariest... along with the part where she talked in that British accent saying, "Do you know what your daughter did?" Ooooohh... that gives me chills just thinking about it.

Date: 3/26/2001 10:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    I read the book and it gave me the chills, I saw parts of the movie but not this that your talking about. Me, too, I'm glad I've got the protection of God.
Date: 3/26/2001 10:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 19384    Yeah, I read the book too, and it was scary. I saw the uncut version, but the shock value was really not as impacting as the first time you see it. I saw it when it first came out and it didn't really bother me until I tried to go to sleep that night.
Date: 3/26/2001 11:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 28899    Scary movies don't bother me at all. I don't even jump anymore. But that part when the Preists are chanting "The power of Christ compells you!" usually gives me chills. -Underground
Date: 3/26/2001 11:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    Acually, me and my sister and brother were laughing through the whole thing, and i don't know why, the movie didn't scare me at all, but Blair witch 2 did.... i don't understand it... Peace and love ~~Carrie~~
Date: 3/26/2001 11:17:00 PM    i've just seen the first one and it scared me more afterwards but i think the directiors ct version is just as good , none of them are terrorfying , just a lil scary
Date: 3/27/2001 2:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 17248    I dont think it was scary just totally disturbing and disgusting. It HAS made me think twice about using a ouija board again though..but Ill agree that afterward is more scary than during. I was about to throw up!
Date: 3/27/2001 4:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 27051    Oh yeah, I like it when she goes, "Do you know what your ****ing daughter did." Freaky!! -Dude of war
Date: 3/27/2001 6:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 25828    It's one of the scariest movies I've ever seen...scariest part to me was when her neck was swolen out in front ....think her head turned around right after that...I've got the new version...and I think it is better, but not that much scarier..it's all scary..8-)~heather
Date: 3/27/2001 7:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 25438    I agree..that movie was messed up. I think that the scariest part is where she talks in the accent to...that was freaky but when I saw her do a backwards crab walk down the stairs with her head spinning and blood I about jumped out of my seat
Date: 3/27/2001 10:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 13546    When she did that crab walk down the stairs was teh freakiest part! *shakes head* I saw it in the theaters, and refused to set my feet back on the ground! LOL! pathetic really... It was a jumpy movie in some parts though!
Date: 3/27/2001 12:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 16115    I love this movie! I find it disturbing and disgusting, but it never has scared me.
Date: 3/27/2001 7:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 28071    I saw the re-release on this past Halloween. Ya, this was not a good idea epscially when you play the Ouija right afterwards with a few friends and roommates on Halloween. The excorcist is scary to me because it is based on a true story, and after seeing the basement scene ("hi captain howdy" lol) it can have som harrowing effects on one's mind. DaVe
