Yeah, I read the book too, and it was scary. I saw the uncut version, but the shock value was really not as impacting as the first time you see it. I saw it when it first came out and it didn't really bother me until I tried to go to sleep that night.  |

Scary movies don't bother me at all. I don't even jump anymore. But that part when the Preists are chanting "The power of Christ compells you!" usually gives me chills. -Underground  |

I dont think it was scary just totally disturbing and disgusting. It HAS made me think twice about using a ouija board again though..but Ill agree that afterward is more scary than during. I was about to throw up!  |

It's one of the scariest movies I've ever seen...scariest part to me was when her neck was swolen out in front ....think her head turned around right after that...I've got the new version...and I think it is better, but not that much scarier..it's all scary..8-)~heather  |

I agree..that movie was messed up. I think that the scariest part is where she talks in the accent to...that was freaky but when I saw her do a backwards crab walk down the stairs with her head spinning and blood I about jumped out of my seat  |

When she did that crab walk down the stairs was teh freakiest part! *shakes head* I saw it in the theaters, and refused to set my feet back on the ground! LOL! pathetic really... It was a jumpy movie in some parts though!  |

I saw the re-release on this past Halloween. Ya, this was not a good idea epscially when you play the Ouija right afterwards with a few friends and roommates on Halloween. The excorcist is scary to me because it is based on a true story, and after seeing the basement scene ("hi captain howdy" lol) it can have som harrowing effects on one's mind. DaVe  |
