Have you ever thought that to be a musician, most of the time you sale your soul to the devil? Yes, it is true in a sense. There is even a movie about it where a blues musician has to sale his soul at the crossroads. I think thats the name of it (Crossroads). Although he LITERALLY sales his soul, it has a deeper meaning. In the real world there isn't an actual tangible excahnge of the soul. What happens is you become the property of the person you sign the record deal under, and they control what you do, say, and wear. Think of country music today, people are having to drop their roots of "what country is supposed to be" to be sex symbols because their mangaers convince them that sex sales. After the feel worthless without being sexy and young looking they give in even if its not them. (ex. Faith Hill) (Garth Brooks and his affair) All of media is about sex saleing and that is all of the devil. In another sense, even the small local bands "sale thier souls." When in a band rather famous or not, you hurt many people along the way. They think since their in a band they have special privledges including the "sex sales" (ex. wink at a fan even though your wife is right there, and its ok cause your in a band.) Anyway yall tell me what you think. I think that the Judds have stayed true to themselves without saleing their souls though. In fact one aof them took down a stripper the other day in a restaurant.
