Thats what happens to children that falls between the cracks in the system...Cps probably took them from their parents , and placed them there! A bunch of ignorant case workers , that are too busy playing GOD... I feel very deeply for this children... I have a similar post , on this subject. Stargazer. |
Date: 3/26/2001 6:37:00 PM From Authorid: 12436 Oh my! This totally disgusts me, I jsut don't see how people can allow this to happen or how people can do this to children. I know sometimes there isn't anything that I can do....but I try. It reminds me of how 800 of the foster children died in Georgia last year because of child abuse. How sad! It's happening everywhere & they know it...they are just too lasy to do the paper work & background checks, that would be too much work for them. I seen this little boy getting smacked in his head the other day & his mother just kept walking while his father proceeded to smack him & shake him. It made me so sad & mad at the same time. I've been through it & I don't want to see it happen to another living being. |

She definitely should not be caring for children. She ought to be locked up for child abuse. As far as what I think about foster care...well it isn't a perfect system, far from it. But there are some wonderful foster parents out there who do it totally out of love for children. My parents fostered a child once.My sister and I were young(I think I was a 5th grader).Anyway, they asked for a child that had not been sexually abused because they had two young daughters. What they got was a child who had been abused horribly in every way imaginable. He stayed with us over a year. It was hard. He would rather be hit than hugged it was what he was used to. I often wonder what happened to him and if he was able to recover from all the abuse. Maybe someday I'll do a post about him and tell the whole story. Tiger Lily |
Date: 3/26/2001 7:21:00 PM From Authorid: 8717 I'm sorry to hear this. I'm sorry to also say that your mom should have done something about this at the time. I guess she was too scared to get involved. The saddest thing is that in some way those girls probably didn't know that what was going on in that house was not normal. If they grew up with that they probably grew up thinking that was acceptable behavior ,especially the really young ones. |
Date: 3/27/2001 3:48:00 AM From Authorid: 27046 You should call CPS and report her. Is sad to say there are so many kids that need foster homes that they are not screening these couples good enough. This happens more often than not it seems. TIME magazine just did a cover feature on this a few months back....very sad........but it needs to end somewhere.......Azairyia |
Date: 3/27/2001 6:21:00 AM From Authorid: 25828 horrible story..I had foster parents for 7 years..they were wonderful...gave me everything i wanted..they had 15 other foster children throughout their life...some honestly just want to make a difference, usually not able to have children for whatever reason...but I'm very thankful for mine...I can say that all of my dealings with DHS or social service people left me feeling like they absolutely don't care about the kids...so if any foster parent's are like you described it is usually because of lack of concern for their case workers..~heather |
