A couple days ago, I was over at my best friend Lindsay's grandma's house. Lindsay is living there for a while. Well, Lindsay's grandma asked if I wanted to stay for dinner, and Lindsay answered for me, "Yes, she does." It was fine because they were having salmon, and I love salmon. Well, Lindsay and I were sitting there, and her grandma was sort of talking about certain recipes, and Lindsay whispered to me, "I miss my dad's cooking." That... didn't sound good. LOL, but I still thought it would be fine. Then when it was almost done, her grandma said the word that scares me off.... CHEESE! I don't like cheese, and when Lindsay's grandma mentioned that she had put cheese in something, Lindsay said to her grandma, "SHHHHH!" It was time to eat, and the stuff that had cheese was cooked squash with cheese on it. I figured I could just eat the squash and take off the cheese, and it would be ok. But I didn't want her grandma to see me do it. Well, we were eating, and her grandma said to me, "Do you want some more squash baby?" Lindsay could barely keep from laughing as her grandma piled more onto my plate. She was saying how she got the recipe from California. Then her grandma said, "I put CHEESE on it." Lindsay lost it, burst out laughing, and said, "She hates real cheese Gran!" I gave Lindsay a look. Her grandma said, "Well if she doesn't like it, she doesn't have to eat it." I said, "No, that's fine, I like it." It WAS fine, since there was barely any cheese on it and I took off a big clump of it. Lindsay was trying not to laugh and said to me, "Don't you hurt that sweet old lady's feelings. You gotta feel bad after she went on and on about the recipe." Then she started laughing again. She was just messing around, because she can't stand the fact that I don't like cheese. LOL. Well a few minutes later, I had eaten pretty much all the squash, and Lindsay pointed to the cheese chunk and said, "What's this, Ashley?" I said, "Come ON! I ate all the squash, that's ALL I didn't eat!" Her grandma agreed with me, but I felt bad about the whole ordeal anyway. LOL

Date: 3/25/2001 10:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 31331    I could really relate to this story because I am so picky. I know how it feels to try to eat something so someone else's feelings don't get hurt when you don't like the food.
