UFO over Eastern North Carolina (with pictures)

At 5:30PM I was talking to My Girlfriend until she had to go out to eat at about 5:50. Then I headed outside to play basketball for a few minutes until I got tired or until it got too dark. So I was playing just fine, then I got real tired and decided to go in. Luckily, a flashing bright white light caught my eye, and a UFO Believer as I am, I couldn't help but to blurt out every other thing happening at the moment and just focus on the flashing white light. So at around 6:16PM I kept watching it flash on and off around 20-30 times... waiting for my mom to get back so she could witness it too. It was far off in the tree's about a good 600 feet horizontally away and about 700 feet vertically (up in the air). I didn't want to walk to where I could see the object clearly because I was afraid by the time I got around to it, it'd be gone. So I ran in real fast and grabbed the digital camera and snapped 2 shots of it, I'm afraid that I didn't get a good flash by the object in the picture, but I atleast got the location to where I seen it. So I went and got a chair, sat down, and was waiting for my mom. When I sat down, I looked at it real close, and saw the white light turn red. I'll admit I do see about 3 or 4 planes fly over daily with white lights flashing, but yet have I seen one to stand still, tricky thing it, it was in the daylight... from what I know, which isn't much, plane's don't use those light's unless it was dark. Helicoptors can hover, yeah, but if it were that low as it seemed to be, You could hear something, I don't care if it was the wind blowing, but You'd here something. It didn't change My Life a dern bit. Being with My Girlfriend has changed My Life completely and the only way it can be for the bad, is if We break up which will never, ever happen.
