I have mixed feelings about Welfare. Many members of my family are on it. While about 3 of them who are on it work hard and struggle to support their many kids, the rest just lay around the house and await the arrival of their check. I think it's okay if you're just going through some hard times, and money is kind of scarce. But when someone doesn't work at all, and just totally depends on their check from Welfare...That just makes me mad. The other day, I was in a grocery store, and there was a basket full of those 'Can Coolers' that you place your can of pop or beer in to keep it cool, or whatever, and on it said: "WORK HARDER-People on Welfare Depend on YOU!"...And that kind of makes me angry. Here we are, working hard to make a living, while (SOME) people on Welfare are laying around their homes, and getting paid...? I dunno. I can't really decide if I am for or against Welfare.  |
